The Emery County Jail is located at 1850 North 550 West in Castle Dale, which is the county seat of Emery County. The city has a population of approximately 1,657 residents.

Posting Bond
Bond may be posted in person at the jail, but only cash is accepted (no credit or debit cards, cashier’s checks, money orders or personal checks). Bond may also be posted through a reputable bail bonding company.

Depositing Money into an Inmate Account
Family and friends may make cash deposits into an inmate’s commissary account while in person at the jail.

Money orders may be mailed to the jail and will be deposited into the inmate’s account. Money orders should be made payable to the inmate, using their full name, and should be mailed to:

Writing an Inmate
Letters should be sent in plain envelopes which are free of decoration, stickers, lipstick marks, etc. A full and complete return address must be listed on the outside of the envelope.

No religious items, food, medicine, greeting cards, pens, pencils, markers, newspapers, envelopes, stamps, stickers, packages or cash will be accepted.

Visiting an Inmate
Visiting hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Visitors must have a valid government identification card featuring their photo to gain entry into the facility. Other personal items such as purses or briefcases must remain in the visitor’s locked vehicle. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted.

Inmate Phone System
Inmates have access to telephones in their housing area from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Inmates may not receive incoming telephone calls.

Family and friends may set up an account in order to be able to receive calls from the jail. Advance Pay accounts are set up by the individual receiving the calls. To set up an Advance Pay account, the individual should call Securus at 1-800-844-6591 for instructions.

Once an account is set up, the inmate may dial the phone numbers specified on the account, and the recipient must then accept the call by following the system’s automated instructions. The cost of the call is then deducted from the account balance.

Phone calls may last up to 15 minutes each. Any attempt to transfer, forward or conference the call will disconnect the call.
